The Chew Stoke ‘hub-in-pub’ community link library book group are also reading this Under a new ‘book swap’ initiative Bath Central Library will be sending a novel to Kaposvár Library every three months. The first of these books is ‘A Crown of Acorns’ by Catherine Fisher.
This book was chosen as it is set in the city of Bath. It was written as a novel for young people but is also being read by adults as ‘crossover fiction’.
In the novel the main protagonist is a teenage girl who has just moved to Bath to live with new foster parents. But she also lives with a secret that still haunts her from her childhood.
The story is a mystery thriller and is set in two other time periods as well as the present. The other main strand of the book features Zac and is set in 1750 at the time of the building of The Circus.
The other strand of the narrative features the legend of King Bladud.
The Chew Stoke ‘hub-in-pub’ community link library book group are also reading this novel as their book of the month and we hope that short book reviews written by the readers in England and Hungary can be shared.
